The Mantooine Minuet was a piece of classical dance music. It was favored by the Galactic Emperor Palpatine.[1] Following his death in 4 ABY, Emperor's Hand Mara Jade was captured by Director of Imperial Intelligence Ysanne Isard. Upon interrogation, Jade, who had identified herself as a dancer in the Imperial court, claimed that the Emperor enjoyed the Mantooine Minuet as a way of appearing obtuse about her real role.[2]

Timothy Zahn and Michael Stackpole created the Mantooine Minuet for Mara Jade: By the Emperor's Hand 3, a comic book published by Dark Horse Comics in 1998. It later received a mention in The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia, published in 2008. In reality, a minuet is a partner dance originating in France.[3]
