[edit] Biography

Barezz took part on the Battle of Picutorion, working alongside High Colonel Drost and Commodore Bevven. Barezz and the ISB suspected that two of the Imperial officers in the battle, Captain Ganig and Sergeant Stecker, were Alliance supporters. Thus, Barezz convinced both Drost and Bevven to "sacrifice" both of them during the battle, sending them to a certain death, instead of allowing them to live and defect.

Barezz headed a somewhat obsessive search for Rebel agent Tiree, usually working with his personal friend Ref Mawber, another ISB agent and the head of a network of spies in the criminal organizations of Questal.

Shortly after the Battle of Yavin, Barezz discovered that Tiree was going to Bothawui to recruit Sammie Staable and Kestrel for the Rebel Alliance. He went to an abandoned mine there, Mesa 291, which was the staging point for Tiree. Barezz's forces managed to intercept Tiree and almost captured him and the recruits. However, Barezz was presumably killed in a thermal detonator blast at the hands of Raal Yorta.

[edit] Behind the scenes

The events of the Imperial Sourcebook and The Game Chambers of Questal were originally believed to have taken place after the Mesa 291 incident from Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game. However, Rookies: No Turning Back shows that Barezz possibly perished in an explosion. Pablo Hidalgo stated: "I've always been of the idea that he died on Mesa 291, and other events in his life mentioned in the Imperial Sourcebook actually occurred before the events of Rebel Breakout. But there's enough vagueness in either direction, I think, that I'll let individual timeliners play with it."
