Mari-Elan Nora was a female Human, who was a Lorrdian and a member of the Jedi Order thousands of years before the Galactic Civil War.

Nora was descended from a group of Lorrdians who had been rescued from a slave colony by a group of Jedi Knights. She joined the Order because she wanted to bring justice to Lorrd, the Lorrdian homeworld, which had been enslaved by the Argazdans as part of the Kanz Disorders. Eventually, she was able to gain enough support from the Galactic Senate to begin a military campaign to end the disorders. Although the Argazdans fought bitterly, Nora and the forces under her command were eventually victorious. During the final battle, the Argazdans fled into the Slave Pits of Lorrd and mysteriously disappeared. After the Jedi and soldiers sent in to find them also vanished, Nora ordered the pits to be filled in, as she believed that something evil dwelt within them. She later became the Jedi Watchman of the Kanz sector, until her death on Noremac, where she was killed by slavers.

By the time of the Galactic Civil War, she had been commemorated with a memorial in the Crypt of Martyrs, on Lorrd.
