―An excerpt, referring to Tatooine[1]

Market Potential of the Known Outer Rim Worlds: A Report to the Galactic Trade Federation by R. Haako, Lieutenant was a report written by Lieutenant Rune Haako for the Trade Federation prior to the Invasion of Naboo. The report detailed the market potential of numerous planets of the Outer Rim Territories, including Tatooine.

The Outer Rim is a forbidden, foreboding, largely unexplored sector—a galactic frontier, lying far from the light and enlightenment of the Republic.

On the farthest cusp of the Rim, the twin suns Tatoo 1 and Tatoo 2 lend their malignant blaze to the planets beneath their sway.

Orbiting the hot inner edge of these suns is a desert world called... Tatooine.

Although it lies in the most remote sector of the Rim, Tatooine is positioned near a prime nexus of hyperspace routes.

Few sentients chose to live on this arid world—but many have business here! Most find the planet easy to get to.

Unfortunately, many do not.

It's hard to believe that any life form could be native to Tatooine. However, a few industrious species seem to thrive on the planet's griddle-hot crags and sun-baked sands.

Some of these creatures are harmless—if crafty.

Others are dangerous indeed!

In truth, any being who survives Tatooine must be counted among the most resourceful in the galaxy.

However, although they might be masters of one of the harshest worlds in the Rim, all of the desert planet's inhabitants are mere slaves...

...to the lure of the Boonta!

In any event, it is our estimation that, beyond any possible undetermined covert uses, this pitiful, vice-ridden world is of no immediate importance to the Trade Federation.
