The Marketta-class shuttle was used during the reign of the New Republic, along with older Imperial shuttles, to transport people rather than vehicles.

The Marketta-class shuttle was used to transport New Republic diplomats in the same way the Lambda-class shuttle had done for Imperial forces. The Marketta was luxurious and was not fit for heavy combat.
Leia Organa Solo used a Marketta-class shuttle, called the Chandrila Moon, on a diplomatic mission to see Admiral Gilad Pellaeon.
