Marl was a veteran duelist in the Taris dueling ring. A one-time dueling champion, Marl's career spanned nearly twenty years. He never fought with blasters, preferring the use of a Vibro double-blade, a decision he made after fellow duelist Gerlon's blaster exploded—which, according to Marl, was a one-in-a-million occurrence. The only duelist he could not beat was the current dueling champion, the crazy Rodian, Twitch. He retired shortly after being defeated by Revan.
He was probably killed when Darth Malak's Sith fleet bombarded the planet of Taris.
