Massassi trees were purple-barked trees native to Yavin 4. The trees featured huge crowns and upsweeping branches and were capable of reaching 200 meters in height. Nebula orchids and ferns climbed on them. The thick mulch from their bark and leaves nourished blueleaf shrubs.

They were named after the ancient civilization, the Massassi, that once inhabited the moon.
