The megalight per hour (abbreviated MGLT) was a unit used to measure the relative sublight speed of starships in realspace. For example, the RZ-1 A-wing interceptor was markedly faster (120 MGLT) than the BTL-A4 Y-wing assault starfighter/bomber (70 MGLT).[1]

Industrial Light & Magic's spaceship speed and maneuverability chart created for Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi

The MGLT unit originated in a reference chart comparing the propulsive capabilities of starfighters, drawn by Industrial Light & Magic during the production of Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi.[2] Some of the figures provided in Star Wars Super Graphic: A Visual Guide to a Galaxy Far, Far Away are markedly different[1] than those shown on the original diagram.[2]
