Mellcrawler
Talk2this wiki
Mellcrawlers were a type of creature whose homeworld was Sullust,[1] a planet in the Outer Rim of the galaxy.[2] The creatures gave off a noxious smell, which became much worse after they died.[1] By 20 BBY, the Sullustan reporter, Den Dhur had smelled a mellcrawler that had been dead for a week. That year, while in the cantina of Republic Mobile Surgical Unit 7 on the planet Drongar, Dhur was reminded of the smell of a mellcrawler that had been dead a week after smelling the Tyrusian red ale being imbibed by his table companion, an Ugnaught named Rorand Zuzz.[3]
Behind the scenes
Edit
The mellcrawler was briefly mentioned in MedStar I: Battle Surgeons, a 2004 Clone Wars novel written by Steve Perry and Michael Reaves as the first part of the MedStar Duology.[3] In 2008, the creature received a small entry in The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia, which established Sullust as the mellcrawler's homeworld.[1]
