The Melus system was a star system that was located in the Nicandra sector, within the Mid Rim[1] and New Territories regions of the galaxy.[2] The system was the namesake of the Melusi Uprising,[3][4] a conflict which the Judicial Forces of the Galactic Republic ended around the year 900 BBY.[3]

Behind the scenesEdit

The Melus system was established in The Essential Atlas Online Companion, which placed the system in grid square L-7.[5]

The Essential Atlas depicts territory falling in that grid square as being located in either the New Territories region of the galaxy or the Northern Dependencies part of the Expansion Region. Since The Essential Atlas Online Companion establishes the Melus system as being part of the Mid Rim (as opposed to the Expansion Region), it therefore must also be part of the New Territories.

Jason Fry, co-author of The Essential Atlas, stated his intention to create homeworlds for numerous species based on context implied from their names. Given this principle, this article makes a similar basic assumption for the Melusi Uprising in relation to the Melus system.
