Merchants, also called traders, were people who sold and bought various products. Although some merchants did business legally, many did business illegally. Traders could also be adept at constructing a number of goods, including weapons, furniture, and droids. Traders who took part in constructing goods would occasionally specialize in a specific field, such as munitions, structures, domestic goods, or engineering.

Behind the scenesEdit

In the game Star Wars Galaxies, merchants were a playable profession prior to the New Game Enhancements of 2005. After the changes, the merchant profession was removed, and merged with the newly created trader profession. In the game, traders were the basis of most of the in-game economy.
