Mesa 291 was a mine on Bothawui.

Initially a lidium mine, the mineral eventually wore out, so the mine was abandoned. It became suddenly empty, however there were still plasma fires in the lower levels.

Rebel agent Tiree tried to use Mesa 291 as a staging point to meet with possible new recruits for the Rebel Alliance. Unfortunately, Imperial Security Bureau agent Mar Barezz found out about Tiree's plan and tried to intercept the newcomers. Barezz's forces injured Tiree, but the new Rebels managed to rescue him and leave Mesa 291 under Barezz's nose.

Due to this defeat, Barezz would always hold a personal grudge towards Tiree.

Behind the scenesEdit

Mesa means "table" in the Spanish language, which led to some confusion when the original role-playing game appeared.
