[edit] Biography
Mij Gilamar was a doctor before he joined the Mandalorians.
Gilamar was one of 75 Mandalorian warriors selected by Jango Fett to help train elite clones on Kamino, as part of the 100 members of the Cuy'val Dar. He wore tan-and-gray armor, and was greatly admired by the clones.
After Order 66, Gilamar helped Kal Skirata find a cure to enhanced clone aging. At some point before the Clone Wars, he aided Spar's escape from Kamino. Alongside Kal Skirata, he worked with the Republic on an advisory level and while engaged in advising "liberated" medical and scientific equipment for use in Kyrimorut. When Order 66 was given he deserted to Mandalore, where he fell in love with Doctor Ovolot Qail Uthan and killed Dred Priest for trying to reform the Death Watch.
After Nyreen Vollen brought Padawan Tallisibeth Enwandung-Esterhazy (nicknamed Scout) to live on Mandalore, Gilamar bonded with the girl, agreeing to teach her first aid. When Scout decided she wanted to stay on Mandalore with Gilamar and Uthan, instead of being sent to live with the Altisian Jedi, Gilamar talked to Skirata on Scout's behalf, requesting that the young Jedi be allowed to stay.
[edit] Behind the scenes
Mij Gilamar was created for an exclusive Entertainment Earth 14 action figure pack. This figure mixes new parts with pieces from existing Jango Fett figures. The figure has new legs, which it shares with B'arin Apma, as well as an all-new head and bits and pieces previously used to make various Jango Fett action figures.
This figure was first designed to be the Mandalorian training sergeant Kal Skirata, but Karen Traviss thought the head mold looked too young, so she asked Hasbro if they wouldn't mind changing the names. She named this figure after her good friend James Gilmer (Mij is Jim spelled backwards).
