Milanda Vorgan was an archaeologist involved in the New Republic survey of Mount Tantiss after the defeat of Thrawn. However, when she, along with her teacher Garv Debble, attempted to search the mountain, they were stopped by the Noghri, who wished to erase all memory of the Emperor.

By 38 ABY she was Associate Professor of Xenolinguistics at the University of Charmath. In that capacity, she authored the paper "The Written Word: A Brief Introduction to the Writing Systems of Galactic Basic".
