Mirx was an officer of the New Republic Defense Fleet.

An inaugural officer of the Fifth Battle Group, Commodore Mirx was placed in command of Task Force Copperleaf. When the Black Fleet Crisis required increased New Republic forces in the Koornacht Cluster, Mirx was also given the command of Task Force Gemstone from the Third Battle Group. Together, Copperleaf and Gemstone formed the flag task force of Operation Strong Hand.
