Mole was a renegade Imperial spy who tried to defect to the Rebel Alliance after escaping from Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Vader's clutches. He was then sought after by the bounty hunter Boba Fett on a bounty.

Mole eventually retreated to the world of Ota. He was then found by Boba Fett when he and Luke Skywalker crash-landed on the planet and were captured by the Snogar people. He escaped with Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Chewbacca, and Princess Leia into the Millennium Falcon.
