History
Edit
During the Clone Wars, this city was the site of a second battle on the planet Dac.
Behind the scenes
Edit
According to the art designers of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars television series, the city's buildings were inspired from the Mon Calamarian cruisers in Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. The buildings are basically upright cruisers.[1]
For much of its existence in canon, Coral City was the capital of Dac. In 2011, Dac was featured in the first three episodes of the fourth season of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars television series. In the episodes, Coral City was not featured as the capital of Dac, but instead Mon Calamari City was shown. It was later confirmed through the young reader novel, Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Warriors of the Deep, that Dac's capital was Mon Calamari City. This sets up a continuity error, as Coral City was said to be the capital of Dac, before, during, and after the Clone Wars. Until an official cohesive timeline is established, this article, like the Coral City article, assumes that the city shown in The Clone Wars was a capital of Dac during the Clone Wars.
