Morishim was the homeworld of the Morish species. During the latter days of the Galactic Civil War, it was also the location of a secret Imperial communications center. This center, in a cave of the High Tatmana, was left behind after the Empire pulled out to the nearby sectors which became the Imperial Remnant. It was then used by one of the locals (the Old Recluse) to gain information on galactic affairs.
Sometime prior to the Caamas Document Crisis, the planet was liberated by the New Republic, which later established a starfighter base there. In 19 ABY, Imperial Colonel Meizh Vermel was sent on a mission by Admiral Gilad Pellaeon to seek out New Republic General Garm Bel Iblis to ask for peace negotiations. His CR90 corvette was captured by Captain Dorja of the Imperial-class Star Destroyer Relentless above Morishim before his message could be heard properly.
The wk'ou melon grew there.
