The motivational-programming capsule was a component in Lobot's cybernetic headband. This device gave him the "motivation" to carry out administrative tasks. It was sabotaged during an Ugnaught insurrection, and he was forced to track EV-9D9 for once damaging Cloud City. He tracked the droid to Jabba the Hutt's Palace, where he was captured. Jabba the Hutt planned to feed him to his rancor, but he manged to escape with the help of Lando Calrissian.
