Murtan Andes was the name of an Imperial Intelligence operative based on Tatooine during the Galactic Civil War. Andes commanded system cell Tatooine/3, and cultivated ties to the Hutt crime lord Jabba Desilijic Tiure while on the planet. After members of the Alliance to Restore the Republic operating on Tatooine fled their base, Andes was ordered to shut down the Tatooine/3 operation and head to the Al'Nasrl sector by Pouquor Elegin of Imperial Intelligence's Sedition branch. Andes was to take any essential personnel along, but was refused permission to continue his association with Jabba the Hutt.
