Muscle maggots were burrowing maggots native to the planet Rattatak that entered their victims' bodies and crawled through their muscle tissue, causing extreme pain. The maggots were used for torture purposes, particularly by Asajj Ventress on Obi-Wan Kenobi. Over time, the extended pain that the muscle maggot generated made prisoners lose muscle strength, providing for easier interrogation.
