N'Kata Del Gormo was a Hysalrian Jedi Master who lived during the times of the Galactic Republic. He found and trained Yoda and his force-sensitive Human friend.

[edit] Biography
Gormo was present on an unidentified swamp world when the young Yoda and his Human friend crash-landed. After a couple of days, he met with the duo and informed them that they were in fact Force-sensitive; so began the duo's training in the ways of the Force.
Soon after the training was complete, a government starship hailing from the Galactic Republic came to "rescue" the pair of Force-sensitive individuals in response to their distress signal.
[edit] Behind the scenes
N'Kata Del Gormo was created by Chuck Hamilton, a Star Wars fan, for the backstory of his Hysalrian entry in the Design an Alien contest held in the Star Wars Galaxy Magazines.
In the original text, it was said that Yoda's training took place on Dagobah. That fact has been overridden by George Lucas stating that Yoda had never visited Dagobah before his exile.
