NEK-072, originally known as R-DPO was a protocol droid that was reprogrammed by the spy droid NEK-01 with a version of NEK-01's personality. After a bounty was placed on the Human Deggar Feps by the Hutt Sonnos, NEK-01 began tracking the Human and learned that Feps planned to travel to the moon Nar Shaddaa aboard the starship Lost Lady. NEK-072 was sent to board the Lost Lady and activate a homing beacon calling for nearby bounty hunters to destroy the ship.
