Biography
Edit
NT-311[4] was a Human[1] male[2] cloned from the Mandalorian bounty hunter Jango Fett. He served as an Imperial clone stormtrooper in the 501st Legion, an elite stormtrooper unit commanded by the Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Vader,[1] during the Galactic Civil War.[4] NT-311 served as his squad's point man. Communications with orbiting Star Destroyers greatly enhanced his unit's planetary coverage.[4] NT-311 was stationed aboard the Sith Lord's flagship, the Imperial I-class Star Destroyer Devastator,[5] by 0 BBY.[6]
That year, the Devastator captured Senator Leia Organa's consular ship,[6] the Rebel blockade runner Tantive IV,[7] which contained the stolen plans of the Empire's[6] DS-1 Orbital Battle Station superweapon.[8] NT-311 was among the stormtroopers who participated in the subsequent boarding of the vessel.[4] The 501st engaged the Rebel troopers defending the Tantive IV in battle, which ended in victory for the 501st Legion and in Senator Organa's capture. However, the Rebel droids C-3PO and R2-D2, the latter of whom possessed the stolen Death Star plans, evacuated the ship in an escape pod.[6]
Personality and traits
Edit
Like all other clones of Jango Fett, NT-311 was 1.83 meters tall.[3] He wielded an E-11 blaster rifle.[9]
Behind the scenes
Edit
NT-311 first appeared on two cards for Decipher's 2001 Jedi Knights Trading Card Game. The character was portrayed as having average combat abilities in comparison to other stormtrooper characters. The in-game statistics also indicated that NT-311's power increased while on the planet Tatooine. According to the 2005 video game Star Wars: Battlefront II, the troopers who boarded the Tantive IV during the events of 1977's Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope were Jango Fett clones in the 501st Legion.
