Nakadia, the homeworld of the Nakadian species, was an agricultural planet in the galaxy's Mid Rim. During the Galactic Civil War, Twilight Company destroyed the planet's plastic factories, where farm crops were made into armor-grade polymers and synthetic resins. In 5 ABY Nakadia served as the capital of the New Republic Senate.
Nakadia was a Mid Rim agricultural world. It had a unique soil composition that allow it to grow a variety of vital crops. Due to its pristine environment, Nakadia was classified by the New Republic as a Class A protected planet. Restricted agricultural products like pta fruits were not allowed on Nakadia since they were considered invasive.
The planet's capital was Quarrow, which had a few thousand inhabitants. Notable locations included the Quarrow Senate house, the restaurant Izzik's, and a poma-club. Quarrow's fibercrete streets were designed for biological only and were unsuitable for droids, speeders, and machines. The planet also had a northernmost spaceport. Nakadia was home to many farms. It's cities and town were small compared to other locations in the galaxy.
During the Clone Wars, Nakadia was occupied by the Confederacy of Independent Systems, which brought waves of battle droids. As a result, the Nakadians developed a bias against droids. Despite accepting droids, they did not treat them as equal or as sentient. Nakadia saw fighting during Operation Ringbreaker of the Galactic Civil War. The Rebel Alliance's Twilight Company destroyed plastic factories where farm crops were processed into armor-grade polymers and synthetic resins.
The New Republic, the successor to the Rebel Alliance, liberated Nakadia. Nakadia became a major exporter of food for New Republic troops. The Galactic Senate also passed a bill designating Nakadia as a Class A protected planet. Following the attack on Chandrila in 5 ABY, the New Republic relocated its capital to Nakadia for a year cycle. Chancellor Mon Mothma delayed a Senate re-vote on her resolution to intervene on Jakku by smuggling a pta fruit aboard Senator Tolwar Wartol's Ganoidian tri-deck cruiser. While customs searched Wartol's cruiser, a five-member team led by Sinjir Rath Velus and Han Solo foiled a conspiracy by the Black Sun and Red Key Raiders to prolong the war. Sinjir convinced five senators to change their vote in favor of Mothma's resolution, leading to the Battle of Jakku.
