"We'll handle this our way, no matter what these Jedi think."
―Doge Urus[src]

Nakha Urus was a male Dug who served as the leader of the Dugs during the Clone Wars, holding the title of Doge and head of the Malastarian council.

Biography

Dug Council

Doge Urus with the Dug Council

During the Battle of Malastare, Urus was supportive of the use of the Electro-proton bomb until it was discovered it had awoken the last Zillo Beast, an event greatly feared by the Dugs. He planned to kill the creature, but when Jedi Master Mace Windu objected, he threatened to reject signing a contract with the Republic that would give the Republic access to the planet's fuel reserves. He and his fellow council members were studying a manuscript, and found the Zillo Beast's vulnerability to fuel. However, when they attempted to use it to kill the beast, however, it merely angered it, to the point that left the pit to wreak havoc on Malastare. Eventually, he was happy to let the Jedi subdue the creature, after which he and his fellow council members signed the treaty.[1]

Personality and Traits

Nakha Urus cared dearly for his people and Malastare's ecosystem. This caused him to be reluctant at first to allow the bomb to be used as he feared it would harm both of them. Urus was willing to provide the Galactic Republic with Malastere's fuel resources, but only if the Republic would help the Dugs against threats to them, which caused him to deny the Republic Malastare's fuel resources unless the Zillo Beast was killed.[1]
