"Light freighter Longshot, this is the Galactic Alliance pursuit frigate Fast Death. Respond immediately, or we will take measures to ensure that you do."
Nargi-class pursuit frigate Fast Death, to Han Solo[src]

The Nargi-class pursuit frigate was a frigate used by the Galactic Alliance for security and law enforcement. It had a double-nosed, sleek hull and was exceptionally fast, equipped with Slayn & Korpil ion drives. In 43.5 ABY, two pursuit frigates attempted to apprehend Captain Han Solo when he distracted Galactic Alliance forces orbiting Coruscant while his wife, Leia Organa Solo, smuggled four psychotic Jedi Knights offworld.

The Nargi-class pursuit frigate was a long and sleek starship used by the Galactic Federation of Free Alliances. It was double-nosed and had a sleek, blue hull. The Nargi-class frigate was also equipped with large ion drives manufactured by Slayn & Korpil, and was known to be exceptionally fast.[1]

"Longshot, your evasive action has been noted. We are now declaring you a suspect vessel in flight. If you continue on this course, we will apprehend you forcibly."
Fast Death command, to Han Solo in the Millennium Falcon[src]

The Nargi-class frigate was used by the Galactic Federation of Free Alliances around 43 ABY. Often called simply "Galactic Alliance pursuit frigates," they were stationed in orbit over the galactic capital of Coruscant, where they were used for pursuit of vessels that broke Coruscant's flight regulations, as well as general security and law enforcement. Nargi-class frigates also had the authority to declare vessels suspect, as well as take such vessels into custody by force.[1]

"Quick End command to the Star Princess—or whatever you're calling yourself at the moment. Have you lost your kriffing mind, Solo?"
Quick End command, to Han Solo in the Millennium Falcon[src]

The Galactic Alliance first used Nargi-class pursuit frigates sometime after the Second Galactic Civil War. In 43.5 ABY, when several Jedi Knights began to develop a mysterious psychosis, the Galactic Alliance decided to encase all of the affected Jedi in carbonite. The New Jedi Order resented this and hid as many of the psychotic Jedi as possible in the New Jedi Temple on Coruscant, but to prevent Galactic Alliance Security from discovering them there, they decided to transport these Jedi offworld. Captain Han Solo, whose task was to distract Galactic Alliance forces in orbit over Coruscant, flew in the Millennium Falcon, breaking every procedure for departing the planet. He was confronted by two Nargi-class frigates and eventually faked a proton torpedo explosion off the Millennium Falcon's stern, spiraling toward one of the frigates and declaring an out-of-control emergency. While the pursuit frigates and other orbital forces were sidetracked, Solo's wife, Leia Organa Solo, smuggled the psychotic Jedi offworld.[1]

Notable vesselsEdit

Several Nargi-class pursuit frigates served the Galactic Alliance in orbit over Coruscant around 43 ABY. The Fast Death was the first pursuit frigate to confront Solo during his mission to distract Galactic Alliance vessels. Another, the Quick End, also joined the chase. Solo eventually faked a proton torpedo detonation on his stern, pretending to spiral out of control toward the Quick End. The Quick End maneuvered out of his way, and, finally convinced that Solo wasn't trying to pull a trick, the Nargi-class frigates broke off their pursuit.[1]

Behind the scenesEdit

The Nargi-class pursuit frigate made its first appearance in Troy Denning's 2009 novel, Fate of the Jedi: Abyss, the third of nine novels in the Fate of the Jedi series.
