The second of three children by Dr. Nash and Dr. Loran Llalik, Nashiak Llalik was born in humid jungle world of Plavin 6. During his childhood, he showed an interest on armor: He was fond of reading stories about the Death Watch and the Sun Guard, and then entertained his younger sister Saren talking about their armors.[1]
Nash Llalik studied at the Chandrillan Academy of Sciences, and got a degree as the first of his class. He was then recruited by COMPNOR Science group, who in turn assigned him to Coalition for Progress.[1]
For a long time, Dr. Llalik wanted to work in his pet project, the Sunder 9 power armor. He worked on it for a year while he was on his personal business venture, Llalik Designs;[1][2] Dr. Llalik was his own test pilot on Sunder 9 Project, and because he was left-handed, the prototypes included some weapons in the left arm.[1]
However, new laws suddenly forbade most power armors.[1] Llalik was unhappy with this, as he had spent almost one year on this project and had built two untested prototypes.[1][2] Llalik decided to store the machines at his home at Plavin 6, and set up his security droids to protect them. Several scoundrels from the galaxy travelled to Plavin 6 wanting to get the Sunder 9 prototypes, but none of them managed to evade the protection.[2]
Fortunately, when he was forced to leave his own project, the Galactic Empire hired him to work on the Zero-G assault stormtrooper armor.[1][2] He had a chance to incorporate some concepts from Sunder 9 in that project, although not enough to satisfy himself.[1]
A great designer, Llalik would become the main responsible of the development of many Imperial and civilian armor suits such as the Radiation Zone Assault Trooper armor and the Storm Commando armor. He also collaborated with Creshaldyne Industries and Koromondain PDS, Incorporated in different designs.[1]
Due to his work, he became a rich man and he built a manor for himself in Plavin 6, hoping to return there one day.[1]
The Rebel Alliance Task Force noticed that his designs were used to further damage the Rebel Alliance, and considered him a threat. However, he was not a political supporter of the Empire, and his sister Saren hoped he could be recruited by the Alliance not only to use his genius for a better goal, but also because she missed his stories about Sun Guard and Death Watch armors.[1]

Llalik was a dark-skinned human with light green eyes who, following the Plavin norm, was fond of loose clothes (contrarily to his beloved armors).[1]
