Naval Command was the command structure of the Imperial Navy. It was reformed from the Naval Command of the Republic Navy and may have been related to the Admiralty.

Like Army Command, Naval Command had many levels in its command structure.[source?] At the highest level was the council or staff of High Admirals that was chaired by the Chief of Naval Operations (the senior commanding officer of the Imperial Navy).[source?] Naval Command signed off on all operations having to deal with the Imperial fleet.[source?] Unless orders were given by the High Command, the Naval command ultimately reviewed and decided on all high level promotions (such as to fleet or high admiral), ship movements, fleet assignments, organizing of any sort of fleet (from armadas to task forces), and all other fleet operations.[source?] Naval Command also decided on how many ships patrolled each sector and which ones were tasked to attack fleets and defense fleets.[source?] Following the Battle of Yavin, Naval Command allowed the creation of the Lancer-class frigate at the urging of Admiral Drez. In the reformation of the Imperial military, it most likely became a subdivision of Central Command.
