Nave Vengaris was governor of Aquilaris during the final decades of the Old Republic. She welcomed the income and boosted tourism which accompanied podracing and granted the use of Floating City, the capital of the planet, as part of the race course. After the rise of Palpatine, however, the Galactic Empire banned the sport.
