Near Indosa was a mining planet that was situated in the north-eastern quadrant of the galaxy and located within the Near Indosa system on the Junction-Tierell Loop hyperlane. The hyperlane was situated in the Gordian Reach sector of the Outer Rim Territories. Near Indosa had been heavily excavated by miners for millennia, which was the reason why most of the planet's mineral resources almost completely disappeared. It was also the reason that many of the miners went to the Far Indosa system during the last days of the Galactic Republic.

DescriptionEdit

Near Indosa was a mining world that was situated within the north-eastern quadrant of the galaxy, at the grid coordinates P-6. The planet was located inside the Near Indosa system on the Junction-Tierell Loop, a hyperroute situated in the south-western section of the Gordian Reach sector of the Outer Rim Territories.[1]

HistoryEdit

Near Indosa endured excavation by miners for millennia, and the planet's crust was perforated with thousands of ancient mine shafts because of the extensive tunneling. As a result of the hundreds of mines on Near Indosa, most of the planet's mineral resources were massively depleted. This caused many of the miners to leave the planet for the nearby Far Indosa system, which was also located along the Junction-Tierell Loop and held prospect for more mineral industrialization.[1]

Behind the scenesEdit

The planet Near Indosa's only inclusion in Star Wars canon to date is in The Essential Atlas, a reference book written by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry, and published by Del Rey in 2009.[1]
