Neimoidia was a planet[4] centrally located in the galaxy's Colonies region,[1] in grid square N-10 on the Standard Galactic Grid, that was connected to Kattada, Balmorra, and Commenor by a hyperspace route.[2] It was the homeworld of the Neimoidian species,[1] as well as a parasite known as the Neimoidian tick larva,[3] and was near a string of wealthy "purse-worlds" settled by Neimoidians,[1] including Cato Neimoidia.[5] Viceroy Nute Gunray,[6] Settlement Officer[7] Rune Haako,[8] and Senator Lott Dod of the Trade Federation,[9] as well as General Lok Durd[10] and Captain Mar Tuuk of the Confederacy of Independent Systems, were Neimoidians from Neimoidia.[4]

Behind the scenesEdit

Neimoidia was first mentioned in the new Star Wars canon in several featurettes[10][11] included in Star Wars: The Clone Wars The Complete Season One, a box set available on Blu-ray or DVD that included the entire first season of the canon animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars[12] released on November 3, 2009.[13] It was originally created for Star Wars: Episode I The Visual Dictionary, a Star Wars Legends reference book written by David West Reynolds[14] and released on May 26, 1999.[15]

StarWars.com's Databank entry for Cato Neimoidia erroneously claimed that it was the homeworld of the Neimoidian species, with no mention of Neimoidia. It was later corrected to state that Cato Neimoidia was a Neimoidian colony, with any mention of a Neimoidian homeworld removed.[5]
