Warning: This infobox is missing the following parameters: otherlife Neimoidia was a planet[4] centrally located in the galaxy's Colonies region that was the homeworld of the Neimoidian species,[1] as well as a creature known as the Neimoidian tick larva.[3] It was near a string of wealth "purse-worlds" settled by Neimoidians.[1] Viceroy Nute Gunray and Senator Lott Dod of the Trade Federation,[5] as well as General Lok Durd and Captain Mar Tuuk of the Confederacy of Independent Systems, were Neimoidians who hailed from this world.[6]

Behind the scenes

Neimoidia was first mentioned in Star Wars: Episode I The Visual Dictionary, a Star Wars Legends reference book written by David West Reynolds[7] that was released on May 26, 1999.[8] Neimoidia became canon when it was mentioned in several featurettes that were included in Star Wars: The Clone Wars The Complete Season One, a box set available on Blu-ray or DVD that included the entire first season of the canon animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars[6] that was released on November 3, 2009.[9] Its status as a planet and the homeworld of the Neimoidian species was made canon by Ultimate Factivity Collection: Star Wars,[4] a young readers activity book that was released on June 16, 2014.[10]

The Databank entry for Cato Neimoidia erroneously claimed that it was the homeworld of the Neimoidian species, with no mention of Neimoidia. The entry was later corrected to state that Cato Neimoidia was a Neimoidian colony world, and any mention of a Neimoidian homeworld was removed.[11]
