The Neimoidian Thrones were seats of Neimoidian power and government erected as a symbol of Trade Federation dominance over a region. They were constructed by OX9 labor droids at a cost of 3000 units each of carbon, ore and nova crystals.

During the Invasion of Naboo in 32 BBY, Commander OOM-9 pacified the planet Naboo's capital, Theed, and built a Throne in front of the Theed Royal Palace, as a means to demoralize the Naboo populace.

Boss Nass and the Gungan Grand Army later destroyed one of these structures in Harte Secur during and replaced it with a Gungan Temple.

Behind the scenes

Neimoidian Thrones appear in the 2001 video game Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds and its 2002 expansion pack. In multiplayer, players can build monuments such as this one, and if defended for 200 in-game "days," can win the scenario. During the Gungan campaign's bonus mission, an alternate version of the Second Battle of Theed, another Throne was destroyed.
