Commander Nemet was the logistics officer for the Avenger and a member of the Line Branch of the Imperial Navy. The commander was considered a fiercely competitive officer. He relayed the scanner information to Captain Lorth Needa. In 3 ABY Nemet informed Captain Needa that the Millennium Falcon no longer appeared on his scopes.

Nemet was played by Mark Jones. In a later scene of Empire Strikes Back, when Admiral Firmus Piett gave the order to ready the tractor beams on the Executor during its attempted capture of the Millennium Falcon, reused footage was shown of the Avenger's crewmen, Nemet included. Since Nemet is a part of the crewmen on the Avenger, it is unlikely that the character is actually intended to be Nemet, simply just reused footage.
"Német(pronounced Neemet)" means "german" in hungarian language.
