Netus was a Human male who served as a senator and the Minister of Defense of the Galactic Republic during the Great Sith War.

Before his political career, Netus served for five years in the rocket-jumper corps in c.4,024 BBY to c.4,019 BBY.
He led the forces of the Republic in the First Battle of Coruscant, and was a valued friend of the current Supreme Chancellor as well as the famous Jedi Master, Vodo-Siosk Baas.
Netus, like many other Republic politicians, found his attempts to reform the bureaucracy of the Defense Council stymied by inertia. He was personally responsible for approving requests for military intervention made by member worlds, as well as ensuring the maintenance and upgrading of the Republic military forces.
He was forced to argue in favor of military action before the Council, justifying such orders against the prevailing strongly non-interventionist views of the Senate.
