Neutralizing Trigon I (Spanish: Anulando A Trigono I) is a two-page comic that was drawn by Beaumont Studios in 1986. It was published in Spain by Editorial Gepsa, under the MyComyc imprint and in Castilian.[1]

Rich Handley's plot summary[]

Gangster Tig Fromm informs his father, Sise, that he has hidden the Trigon One in a mountainous desert. Speeder bike racers Jord Dusat and Thall Joben intercept the message and, with the droids' help, sabotage the satellite by sneaking aboard and disconnecting its computer's main memory.[1]

Development[]

The Star Wars-themed comics featured in Mycomic were rediscovered in 2013 when a fan named Adolfo Rodriguez mentioned them on the DarkHorse.com forums. Star Wars author Abel G. Peña translated them into English, with his colleague Rich Handley re-lettering them. The translated comics were made available for download on their respective websites on April 10. The original author is unknown.[1]

Continuity[]

Dark Horse's Vice President of Publishing, Randy Stradley, inquired at Lucasfilm Ltd. about whether the Mycomic strips had been officially licensed at the time of their publication. Although the comics bore the appropriate copyright information, Lucasfilm found no paperwork proving that Editorial Gepsa had actually licensed the titles. Nevertheless, Handley and Peña strongly suspect that the licensing did occure, although Handley has claimed that the "the strips' legitimacy is considered suspect for now, and Dark Horse has no plans to reprint them unless documentation emerges."[1] However, the events of the comic were briefly mentioned in the first part of the blog The Droids Re-Animated[3]
