New Coral City was the planetary capital of Dac as of 137 ABY, and the seat of the Mon Calamari Council. Prior to the Imperial takeover of the world in the aftermath of the Sith–Imperial War, the city was called Ackbarea. In 137 ABY, New Coral City became the site of first massacre in the genocide of the Mon Calamari people ordered by Emperor and Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Krayt,
