Nial Organa was a member of House Organa of Alderaan and the adopted cousin of Princess Leia. When Leia was growing up, Nial was embroiled in a succession of romantic relationships with partners considered inappropriate for a man of his rank, often covered in salacious tabvid stories.
He presumably died in 0 BBY when the first Death Star destroyed Alderaan.

In online fandom, it is sometimes said that Nial is the son of Leia's aunt Tia Organa, but it is not clear that there is any canon evidence for this.
Nial and Tia Organa are linked, however, in Children of the Jedi, where Leia's thoughts segue from Cousin Nial's love-life to the scandal a generation earlier which had seen Aunt Tia's engagement to a nobleman of House Vandron abruptly broken off. This connection could indicate that Nial was Tia's son—even perhaps a direct product of the earlier scandal—but in itself it does not amount to proof.
If Nial was Leia's first cousin, he must have been a son of either Tia Organa or one of her sisters, Celly and Rouge, or else of Raymus Antilles, brother to Leia's adoptive mother Breha. Although Raymus and Queen Breha were not direct members of the Organa bloodline, their family clearly held somewhat comparable status in its own right, and may even have been considered part of a wider House Organa affinity.
