Biography
Edit
Birth
Edit
- "Nida's very existence, he knew, was part of Seelah's game to keep herself and Jariad close to the seat of power"
- ―Yaru Korsin's thoughts about Seelah's plans for Nida
Nida was the daughter of Yaru and Seelah Korsin. Seelah, who was planning to kill Korsin in order to enact revenge for her first husband's death, used Nida's birth as a plot to get closer to the throne. Despite the fact that she adored her son Jariad, Seelah considered Nida merely a tool in her plans.
Training
Edit
- "Seelah wasn't just getting Nida out of the way; Korsin knew she was preventing her daughter from superficial training in the Sith ways. Seelah kept the rolls of Sith on Kesh; she knew where all potential mentors were at any time. But Korsin had several loyal crew members who were willing to serve him in any role. With Gloyd's help, Korsin had staged their deaths in remote areas of Kesh and sent them into hiding. All during the nights of Nida's seeming exile, the girl had secretly been learning the ways of the dark side-even as, during the day, she was winning Keshiri friends and building a network of informants. While Seelah was striving to portray herself as the model Sith on Kesh, Korsin was crafting a leader, someone with the talents to fight and to govern. An heir and, today, a savior."
- ―Yaru Korsin's thoughts on Nida's training
Despite Seelah's contempt for her daughter, Korsin adored Nida and, secretly aware that Seelah was planning something against him, he began to secretly train Nida in the ways of the dark side when she was supposedly away as an ambassador for the Sith. Seelah had refused to give her training so it was kept a close secret. Nida was taught to govern as well as harness her force powers. Over the course of many years, Korsin turned Nida into a leader who was capable of succeeding him as Grand Lord.
Revolt and assassination attempt

The Skyborn Rangers and discovery of a plot
Edit
- "The night before, one of Nida's Keshiri acquaintances had revealed the plot to steal the uvak while the principal Sith were atop the mountain. She'd spent the morning making sure whatever the Keshiri were doing went no further before joining Korsin here, along with her Skyborn Rangers and several Korsin partisans."
- ―Yaru Korsin's thoughts about Nida's discovery of the Keshiri plot
When Nida turned twenty, her father offered her command of a group of Sith uvak-riders called the Skyborn Rangers. Seelah was not worried by this appointment as she believed it was nothing more than 'a club of Sith hobby riders.' The Rangers' introduction to Kesh society was given at the same time as Jariad's promotion to High Lord, an event in which Seelah was much more interested.
Among the stable boys who served her, Nida's attention was caught by the young Tona Vaal, Adari Vaal's son. Tona was apparently smitten by Nida and, at some point, revealed that his mother was leading an underground resistance movement that was planning to kill all the uvaks in order to destroy the Sith's means of transportation. He also informed Nida that the resistance movement had followers among the ranks of the Sith's servants, and that these followers would turn against the Sith after the uvaks' death.
Korsin and Nida also suspected that, with Jariad now a High Lord, Seelah was going to make her move for power and revenge. While Korsin and Gloyd, accompanied by a a group of bodyguards, went to the mountain to meet with Seelah, Nida stayed behind and purged the Keshiri's revolt when it came.
Korsin and Jariad's death
Edit
- "I guess you can feel it-Father's gone."
"Yes. And Jariad?"
"Father tried to throw him over the side with the Force. He tried...and when he failed, I did it" - ―Nida Korsin taunting her mother over her son's death.
After crushing the rebels in Tahv, which took longer than she had expected, Nida and her Rangers traveled to the mountain where Korsin had pushed Devore over the edge to keep control of his crew. Although Seelah had known that there were some Sith who were still loyal to Devore, she failed to see those who remained loyal to Korsin, including Nida. Upon arriving, Nida found Korsin and Gloyd fighting off Jariad's Sith Sabers while Seelah watched. Nida attacked her mother and incapacitated her. She then attacked her half-brother and his servants. Jariad was wounded, as was Korsin. While Nida killed off the remaining Sabers, Korsin used the Force to try and throw Jariad over the edge of the cliff, like he had done to Devore. Korsin died before he could so Nida took over and thew her half-brother over the cliff to his death, mirroring her father's actions.
Grand Lord of the Sith Tribe
Edit
- "He looked up again at Nida again. So strong. His future for the Sith, battling Seelah's future. And winning."
- ―Yaru Korsin's thoughts about his daughter and the future of his tribe.
After the battle, Nida returned to the old medical ward where Gloyd had blown himself and the last Sabers up. Only Seelah had survived but she had lost the use of her legs. Nida waited for her mother to awake from unconsciousness before taunting her over her failure.
Nida then told her mother that Korsin had never trusted her and had groomed Nida to help him just like Jariad had helped Seelah. Nida also told her mother how she had killed Jariad in her own personal revenge against Seelah. Nida then informed Seelah that Korsin's last testament established Nida as the new Grand Lord and that the three surviving High Lords had ratified it, suggesting that the three who had not had been supporters of Jariad.
Finally, Nida told her mother that before he had died, Korsin had decreed that when a Grand Lord died, his or her spouse would be sacrificed to honor their spirit. While this was the official reason, Nida taunted Seelah about why Korsin had set it up. Seelah briefly feared for her life, but Nida told her mother that she wouldn't die straight away: instead she would live alone on the mountain with no company.
Seelah tried to save herself by claiming that she was Nida's mother but the young woman told her that that was only what she had been told before leaving her mother to her fate.
