Nikkos Tyris was a fallen Anzati Jedi Knight and one of the founders of the Jensaarai. He was one of Count Dooku's Dark Acolytes during the Clone Wars.

[edit] Biography
Tyris was one of many Jedi believed lost on Baltizaar in the battle against the Bando Gora. However, unbeknownst to the Jedi, Tyris and his band of followers survived the battle and traveled to Susevfi, a world with little strategic importance in the Clone Wars. There, the former Jedi set up a training area where they could practice their newfound Sith techniques away from the prying eyes of the Jedi. His followers became the "Jensaarai", the "hidden followers of truth" in the ancient Sith language.
During the Clone Wars, Count Dooku converted Tyris to his cause with the promise of letting him access a Sith holocron Dooku had stolen from the Jedi Temple. This holocron had been one that the famous Anzat Dark Jedi Volfe Karkko often accessed.
Some time after the Battle of Praesitlyn, three Jedi found the training camp and the nascent Jensaarai. Nejaa Halcyon, Ylenic It'kla (who referred to Tyris as Nightsweat), and one It'kla called "Desertwind" attempted to turn the Dark Jedi from their path, but were rebuffed. Attacked, the Jedi squared off against Tyris and his companions and battle was joined. "Desertwind" managed to kill his opponent, the apparent leader of the Jensaarai, and Ylenic slew the Dark Jedi he identified as "Dustrose".
Halcyon, however, was less fortunate than the others. Tyris took advantage of Halcyon's lack of telekinetic powers and ran him through. Before succumbing to his injuries, Halcyon drained the energy out of Tyris's lightsaber and used the Force to break every bone in his body, killing him. The release of dark side energies at the deaths of the three Jensaarai leaders collapsed the structure where the rest of the Jensaarai were dwelling, killing all but four of the apprentices. The survivors included the wife of one of Tyris' apprentices, the woman who would later become the Saarai-kaar of the Jensaarai.
[edit] Lightsaber style
Tyris favored the Shien variant of lightsaber combat, holding the blade pointed toward the ground by the strong side hand, with the off side hand riding loosely on the weapon's pommel. He moved the blade in a triangular pattern that effectively warded the lower two-thirds of his body from attack. With this unique style, he could deliver lightning-fast slashes and ripostes that could easily split an opponent from groin to neck, while also rapidly rotating upwards to block overhead strikes.

Both "Nikos" and "Tyris" are actual Greek name and surname respectively; in Greek the full name would be "Νίκος Τυρής". Nikos is a diminutive of Nicolas.
