Nosaurians were a species of primitive aliens from New Plympto. Their rough skin allowed them to more easily survive explosions that would kill other species. They were easily recognized by the row of horns on their heads. It seems that the males used these horns to battle for territory and for females. They had an inexplicable ability to tell when the Sun on New Plympto was setting, which they "sang down" by braying. Oddly, they also had luminescent mouth linings for long-distance communication. The theory for their unique mouths is that they evolved from reptiles using the phosphorence to lure prey.
Nosaurians were color- blind, which was not bothersome to them. Their language consisted of hisses, barks, and warbles, commonly using metaphors relating to weather, nature, or the seasons. They were capable of speaking Basic, yet they generally choose not to.They also hated Humans, an aftereffect from the years of the Galactic Empire, during which many Nosaurians were enslaved as punishment for their involvement with the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars. Decades later, when they chose not to succumb to the Yuuzhan Vong during the invasion, a deadly virus was released on their homeworld, causing New Plympto to become un-inhabitable.
Nosaurians also may have joined the Confederationas Corellia had joined and thier system was in Corellian Sector (Nar Shaddaa). This was during the the Confederation-Galactic Alliance War
They were very fond of their homeworld's only export, rikknit eggs.
A famous member of the Nosaurian people was the Podracer pilot Clegg Holdfast.
