Nu was a letter in the Secondary alternate alphabet. Nu was often used as a call sign for Imperial starfighter Flight groups, specifically Assault Gunboats. Assault Gunboat designated Nu 1 is one such example.

Nu was also a surname (for instance, Jocasta Nu), whether related to the letter or not.
