- "I swear this sacred oath that I shall render unconditional obedience to Emperor Palpatine, to exercise every power in service to the Galactic Empire, and shall, whensoever I am asked, be prepared, as a loyal servant, to surrender my life for this oath."
- ―Oath of Obedience
The Oath of Obedience was a vow made, for some time between the years 19 and 1 BBY, by riot troopers who were graduating from the Imperial Academy of Yinchorr. The oath consisted of a pledge to give complete allegiance to Emperor Palpatine and the Galactic Empire, even to death.
Behind the scenesEdit
The Oath of Obedience was first mentioned in the "Riot Trooper" entry in the in-game databank of the PlayStation 3/Xbox 360 versions of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II, a LucasArts video game released in 2010.

- ↑ According to The New Essential Chronology, the Galactic Empire was formed in the year 19 BBY. Since the events of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II occur in the year 1 BBY according to the tie-in comic, the oath must have been in use during that time.
