The Obsidian was a Imperial XQ1 Platform where Grand Admiral Zaarin developed a series of prototype TIE Fighters as part of the TIE Experimental Project. The facility was defended by several TIE Fighter squadrons and the science research ship Sardis.

History
Edit
The station, along with the Sardis, was destroyed in a Rebel attack shortly following the Battle of Hoth. Zaarin was able to salvage remnants of the Obsidian's computer from its debris.
Behind the scenesEdit
In the final cutscene of the second tour of duty in X-wing Alliance, Zaarin orders his crew to return to Obsidian station, although it had been destroyed in the previous battle. It's unknown whether this is a blooper or there was indeed another space station named Obsidian.
