Obsidian was a material. It could be found on Bassadro, Mindor, Mustafar and Nam Chorios. Sometimes, a fry-rock was composed of obsidian, and the material was used in part of Darth Vader's armor, the Shadow Throne, and also to make obsidian lances and obsidian swords.

Behind the scenesEdit

"Obsidian" in the Star Wars universe may have had different properties from earthly obsidian, which is volcanic glass that could even be chipped with Stone Age tools to create an arrowhead. Another possibility is that the "obsidian" used in Darth Vader's armor is a brand name for a tougher substance.
