"Well, now I know who to call when I have an ocuvox infestation."
―Rook Pryce taunts Obi-Wan Kenobi after he frightens off an ocuvox[1]

Ocuvox were a species of winged animal found in the forests of the planet Wielu during the Clone Wars, a conflict between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Members of the species had three eyes, a beak, and two blue feet as well as blue feathers covering their body and wings, apart from the tips of the wing which had purple feathers. Ocuvox wings also bore strips which glowed white in darkness. The winged animals were capable of squawking and were known to create infestations.[1]

Around 21 BBY,[2] the Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi was on Wielu hunting a Shistavanen criminal named T'mott Zoat, and mistook the strips on an ocuvox's wings for his target's eyes. After slashing at the animal with his lightsaber, he caused it to fly away, and the smuggler Rook Pryce, who had witnessed the attack, taunted him for the mistake.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

Ocuvox appeared in The Clone Wars: The Smuggler's Code, a digest sized comic book released in 2013. It was written by Justin Aclin and illustrated by Eduardo Ferrara.[1]
