Geography
Edit

Ojom was a frigid oceanic world with many glaciers and the homeworld of the Besalisk. Each glacier supported a separate community, though the planet as a whole was sparsely populated. Many space stations orbited the world, and the populations on these stations actually exceeded that of those communities planetside. The stations filled the role of starports for the planet, and accommodations were much more hospitable than those on Ojom.
The Ojomian onion was a vegetable that was named for Ojom, though it is unclear whether they were grown on the planet or in the orbiting space stations.
History
Edit
The native Besalisk never sought representation in the Senate of the Galactic Republic, and were content to let galactic affairs continue without their involvement. Ojom avoided Imperial occupation by means of the Besalisks' underworld contacts, though these bargains often ended with the Besalisk becoming woefully indebted.
After his defeat during the Post-Zsinj campaign, High Admiral Treuten Teradoc fled in the Deep Core where he created his small empire. Ojom was one of the planets controled by the warlord. Like other Deep Core systems, the Ojom system was probably abandoned after the Imperial Reunification in 12 ABY.[2]
