Old Guard

The Old Guard were a group of Jedi considered likely to be appointed to the Jedi High Council. Members included Count Dooku, Tyvokka, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Sifo-Dyas, Tsui Choi, Roan Shryne, and many other Jedi over the last century of the Republic.
Qui-Gon Jinn was one of the supporters of the Living Force ideology who contrasted those of the Old Guard. Despite this, many thought that Qui-Gon would be eligible for membership on the Council, but because of his often unorthodox methods, he was passed over in favor of Plo Koon and Ki-Adi-Mundi.
