Onaconda Farr was a male Rodian politician that served as the Senator of Rodia in the last years of the Galactic Republic. In the early days of the Clone Wars, Senator Farr felt compelled to join the Confederacy of Independent Systems in order to secure much needed supplies for his planet. Farr returned to the Republic cause with the help of his friend, Senator Padmé Amidala after capturing Viceroy Nute Gunray, and securing Republic Aid for his people.[1]
Senator Farr remained a staunch Republic Loyalist for the remainder of the war and was noted for his involvement in several attempts at ending the conflict, along with a group of like-minded Senators, such as: Padmé Amidala, Bail Organa, and Mon Mothma. Farr was murdered by his personal aide, Lolo Purs amidst a debate regarding the Republic military enhancement bill, as she was upset because he brought the war to their homeworld.[2]
Biography
Before the Clone Wars
Onaconda Farr, a Rodian male lived during the final decades of the Old Republic. He lived on his homeworld of Rodia.[3] He then became Senator for Rodia in the Republic's Senate. Prior to the Blockade of Naboo, Farr became Ruwee Naberrie's strongest ally and was affectionately called "Uncle Ono" by Naberrie's daughter, Padmé.[1]
Clone Wars
Farr continued to serve in the Republic Senate, overseeing decisions being made by Supreme Chancellor Palpatine.[5]
Abandoned by the Republic
- "You speak of friendship I have not witnessed of late. Where was the Republic when our supply ships were destroyed by pirates? Where was the Republic as my people starved? We... have been stranded out here without any help at all. I know it is not your fault, but my people starved all the same."
- ―Onaconda Farr, to Padmé Amidala
When pirates destroyed destroyed supply ships bound for Rodia which left his people starving, Farr felt betrayed by the Republic. Thus, he agree to ally with Separatist Council member, Trade Federation Viceroy Nute Gunray for the much needed supplies. However, Farr would have to give Gunray Senator Amidala as part of the deal.[1]
Farr then requested Amidala to come to Rodia to discuss Rodia's supply problems. When Amidala arrived, Farr spoke with her about the Republic's abandonment, but Amidala assured him that Rodia would get their food. Farr, however, then revealed that he made a deal with Gunray to get the supplies in exchange for turning Amidala over to Gunray. Farr and Silood then took Amidala to the detention center.[1]
When Gunray arrived, Farr then told him that Amidala was in the detention center. Enroute to the detention center, Gunray's battle droids mistook Representative Jar Jar Binks as a Jedi. Farr then asked Gunray when the supplies would be arriving. Gunray told him that supplies would come following Amidala's execution. Farr objected to this, saying that she was a prisoner of war. Farr and Silood, realizing their mistake, decided to keep an eye out for the Jedi since he was their only hope. [1]
However, Amidala then escaped but was the recaptured by Gunray's droids following the Jedi's death. Farr then spotted the Jedi and stood by as the Jedi summoned a monster that destroyed Gunray's battle droids and ship. Farr then picked one of the battle droids blasters. Farr was then ordered by Gunray to shoot Amidala and the Jedi. However, Farr betrayed Gunray and placed him under arrest. Clone Commander Gree and his troops then came to arrest Gunray. Palpatine then contacted Farr, telling him that supply ships were en route. Farr then apologized to Amidala and thanked Binks calling him the most bravest or foolish Jedi he's ever met.[1]
